Nijverdal is a medium-sized city located in the eastern Netherlands, in the province of Overijssel. It is part of the Hellendoorn municipality and has about 25,000 residents. The city lies approximately 15 metres above sea level, between Almelo and Holten, about 20 kilometres from Enschede.
Historically an industrial town known for its textile industry, Nijverdal has evolved into a modern centre for logistics, technology, and services. Despite its industrial roots, it is surrounded by nature — the nearby Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park offers beautiful landscapes and outdoor recreation opportunities.
The city centre features shops, supermarkets, schools, restaurants, sports facilities, and a train station with connections to Zwolle, Deventer, and Enschede. Conveniently located along the N35 road, Nijverdal offers an excellent balance of work opportunities, nature, and accessibility — making it a comfortable place to live and work.
