Kinrooi is a small, quiet municipality located in north-eastern Belgium, in the province of Limburg, close to the Dutch border. It has around 12,000 residents and consists of several villages, including Kinrooi, Molenbeersel, Geistingen, and Ophoven. The area lies at an elevation of about 30 metres above sea level, near the River Maas, which gives it a green and open landscape.
Kinrooi has a mainly residential and agricultural character, with production and logistics companies operating in the surrounding area. Thanks to its border location, it offers easy access to nearby towns such as Weert, Maaseik, and Roermond. The municipality provides shops, schools, restaurants, basic services, and bus connections. Kinrooi is a popular place to live for people working on either side of the Belgian-Dutch border who prefer a calm living environment.
