Świebodzice is a city in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, within Świdnica County. From 1975 to 1998, the city was administratively part of the Wałbrzych Voivodeship. It borders Wałbrzych directly to the south.
The city is situated at the foot of the Wałbrzych Foothills, on the Świebodzice Plateau, along the middle course of the Pełcznica River, on the edge of the Książ Landscape Park. Świebodzice lies at an elevation ranging from about 280 to 425 meters above sea level (Grabnik Hill) and is part of the Wałbrzych agglomeration.
